Journey Dynamics started in Summer, 2005, with a question: "Where is a really big group of people with a really large problem that we might be able to solve?"  This led to thinking about drivers struggling on the roads of Britain, and a second question: "SatNav seems really neat, so why are traffic jams and delays such a problem for busy people?"

We realised that busy people need to know about time: "....when should I leave, when will I arrive?"

We decided to build technologies that were as helpful about time as satellite systems are about location, and Journey Dynamics had its mission.

By early 2006 the core team was established and work began. The development of JDIS required some really big data systems, databases and fast hardware. Even so, some of the core analysis has taken days to run, but then with billions of rows of data that's not really surprising.

Autumn 2006 saw long discussions and debates with customers about user propositions and we discovered just how much value can be added for a traveller by improving his understanding of time.
